Research shows that at least 70% of people over 65 will need long term care services at some point in their lifetime1. And while most people think of long term care as impacting only those in their senior years, 40% of people currently receive long term care services are ages 18-642.

Nursing Home Care


Single Room- $63,171

Shared Room- $56,758

 

Assisted Living

Private, one bedroom- $30,438

 

Adult Day Care- $19,152 (based on five days per week)

 

Home Health-$44,341 (based on 44 hours per week)

Payment

There are numerous ways to pay for long-term care services. These include:

Private Pay. These would be resources you have saved over your lifetime that may be used to pay for your long-term care. Additionally, you may have family members who are able to help pay for the cost of your care.

Long Term Care Insurance This link to the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance will provide you with the latest information about long-term care insurance costs and provide you with a listing of long-term care insurance companies and their ratings.

Public Benefits If you qualify, you may be eligible for programs that can help offset the cost of long-term care.
