Overview

The purpose of this presentation is to provide education regarding commonly asked questions from clinicians about the MDS 3.0, M-Section and wounds. CMS has now mandated MDS focused surveys.  The M-Section of the MDS has been identified as one of the areas surveyors are to target in their reviews. This program will help you identify areas of the M-Section where identified mistakes are frequently being made with coding and reporting. You are invited to be part of this interactive program where you may bring your questions about the M-Section and add your knowledge and understanding to the discussion.

Learning Objective

By the completion of the presentation, attendees will:

  • Describe the intent and potential uses of the M-Section of the MDS 3.0.

  • Identify the most common mistakes on the M-Section when reporting to CMS.

  • Discuss common questions about coding the M-Section.

  • Participate in interactive questions and answers session regarding the M-Section.
